Who We Are
Sandra Petersen, DNP, APRN, GNP-BC
Dr. Petersen is one of the long-term care industry's experts on risk and quality management issues. She has served as the Senior Vice President of Quality and Clinical Services for a large assisted living provider for almost ten years, overseeing a successful quality and risk management program in close to 200 residences nationwide. As a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant and expert geriatric clinician, Petersen is frequently consulted by the legal community regarding clinical and risk management issues in the long-term care environment and has served as an adjunct professor of nursing for both East Texas Baptist College and the University of Texas Tyler in East Texas. She currently serves as a member of the Assisted Living Federation of America's (ALFA) Government Relations and Education Committees, working closely with providers, state affiliates, regulators, and legislators regarding quality and risk concerns. Petersen is frequently sought as a lecturer on a wide range of clinical, legal, risk and quality management issues.
Carole Eldridge, DNP, RN, CNAA-BC
Dr. Eldridge is a nationally-known long-term care educator and author. She is a board certified nurse administrator, advanced, with extensive experience in starting and managing long-term care companies. Eldridge has opened and operated several Medicare and private duty home health agencies, a hospice, a medical equipment company, and a healthcare publishing company, overseeing a four-state home care company as Chief Executive Officer for several years. She has served as National Staff Development Coordinator and Vice President of Resident and Quality Services for a large assisted living company. Eldridge has written more than sixty training publications for unlicensed attendants in long-term care. She is the author of Long-Term Care Risk Management: Resident Falls, as well as a number of professional journal articles. A former university school of nursing instructor and an approved provider of continuing education for nurses, Eldridge speaks often to industry groups on staff development and retention, career ladders, and healthcare administration.
